Bam Margera: Brad Pitt Texted Me After Ryan Dunn's Death

Bam Margera isn't afraid to share his grief with the world.
In a searingly honest and emotional new interview, the Jackass star opens up about last week's drunk driving death of his friend Ryan Dunn -- and how superstars, including Brad Pitt, have reached out.

"I think it's rad that, you know, people I talk to rarely, you know, can take the time to text me," Margera told E! Newsof condolence wishes from Pitt, 47, and others. (Pitt played himself in a 2002 Jackass sketch.)

"He was my best f--king friend in the world. It's been five days now and I can't stop crying man," Margera said of Dunn, who was just 34 when he crashed his Porsche in rural Pennsylvania last Monday, instantly killing him and passenger.
Dunn's blood-alcohol level was a staggering .196, and he was driving over 140 miles an hour.
"I just don't think it should've been him," added Margera, who was in Arizona when his brother gave him the heartbreaking news over the phone.
"It was pretty much the worst news I've ever heard in my life."
Eerily, Margera and Dunn were involved in a non-fatal crash in the same area years ago, he says. "He flipped me in a car eight times at the same exact spot in 1996. Thank God I had my seat belt on, because Chris Raab put one on me, but my brother didn't have one on. He flew 40 feet. Thank God he's alive. But like, Dunn was always a maniac at driving."
The last text Margera got from his buddy? "Stopping for a beer, be there when I can.”

Autopsy Confirms: Ryan Dunn Was Drunk

After much speculation, it has been confirmed that Ryan Dunn was intoxicated when he drove his Porsche off of a Pennsylvania road at 130 MPH Monday morning, killing himself and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell.

After the autopsy and toxicology reports were conducted, it was concluded that Dunn had the legal alcohol limit nearly doubled. His blood alcohol level was .196 while the legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08, according to
TMZ.

Dunn reportedly consumed at least three beers and a number of shots -- one round of drinks which he documented in a photo he posted to his Tumblr account just hours before his death.

But according to West Goshen Police Chief Michael Carroll, "No other substances were found in his blood other than the alcohol."

Both Dunn and Hartwell were killed instantly by blunt force head trauma upon impact, before their vehicle burst into flames.

"I've never seen a car destroyed in an automobile accident the way this car was even before it caught on fire," Carroll said previously. "The automobile actually came apart. It was unbelievable and I've been on a lot of fatal accident scenes. This is by far the worse I've seen."

Dunn's colleagues and friends, including Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O, have been showing their love for the fallen jokester and stunt man, remembering the kind and comedic member of the 'Jackass' family.

R.I.P. To Jackass' Ryan Dunn

RIP Ryan Dunn. The Jackass Star was the driver in this mornings fatal car crash. According to police Dunn’s car was “fully engulfed in flames” when officials arrived to the scene. The West Goshen Township Police Department officers found Dunn’s 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 “off the road into the woods”

Both Dunn and the passenger died as a result to their injuries sustained in the accident. Cops have not yet released information on the passenger yet, but they will once they can positively identify the body. Cops believe that “speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident.” Hours before the crash Dunn did tweet a photo of himself drinking with friends hours before the accident.

Both cast-mates Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O tweeted expressing their feelings about heir loss. Steve-O tweeted saying “I don’t know what to say, except I love Ryan Dunn, I’m really going to Miss him.” Knoxville tweeted saying “Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. RIP Ryan, I love you buddy.”

After a few kind words Roger Ebert had harsh words to say about the incident, he tweeted “ Friends don’t let Jackasses drink and drive” as harsh as those words are...it is the sad truth, and not only did Ryan lose his life but he took somebody else’s as well.

Our Prayers are with the Dunn Family.
